Did you see this?

Check out this mention of Mrs. Dodd in the AceNotes today:

Elizabeth Dodd, assistant professor of music, came to the University of Evansville in 1995. She previously taught at the University of Tulsa, where she was an artistic assistant professor. She had also taught at Oral Roberts University. For several years, Dodd has served as a member of the faculty for the Operafestival di Roma in Rome, where she teaches voice and Italian diction and directs opera scenes. This year she will be co-directing Puccini’s "Suor Angelica" at the Operafestival di Roma.

Dodd earned her MM degree in vocal performances from the University of Tulsa, and her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Oklahoma. She has been a student of Elly Ameling, International Institute of Chamber Music, and has taken a Master Class with Elisabeth Schwartzkopf. Her specialty is German Lieder repertoire, and has studied the art of the leid with Ameling, Schwartzkopf and Rudolf Jansen. Many of her own students have been regional Metropolitan Opera Audition winners and many appear in local and regional opera companies and musical theater venues, including Broadway.

She also performs roles in opera, oratorio and operetta, and has performed with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra and the Gilbert and Sullivan Society. As an undergraduate, Dodd performed in summer stock with such stars as Don Ameche, Jack Jones and Bert Parks. She has been an adjudicator for the Colorado Metropolitan Opera Auditions.

While at UE, Dodd has been stage director for the University’s first full-length opera, Floyd's Susanna, and introduced the audience at UE to a new opera, Ghosts of Versailles. She has directed an Opera Workshop in which UE vocal students presented Mozart opera scenes entirely in Italian. With the assistance of John Meredig, Dodd established a Diction Computer Lab where diction students can listen to native speakers of foreign languages read art song and opera texts. Also during her years at UE, she served on the Professional Affairs Committee, the Assessment Committee and served as chair of the Voice Position Search Committee.

She will be missed greatly by all of us!

Wow,

I can't believe all that she has done for UE and for herself. I really feel bad that I didn't know about this before. She is going to be missed by all of us for her teaching but even more so for all she has done.
